In December 2023, the Paths team secured $72 million in financing to rehabilitate Whitney Young Manor Apartments in Yonkers, New York. This financing will allow much needed renovation of 195 apartment interiors, kitchens, and bathrooms, replacement of appliances with upgraded energy efficient models, and retrofit of the exterior façades with energy efficient cladding.

 

Additionally, utilizing a competitive funding award through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)’s Empire Building Challenge and Low Carbon Retrofit programs, the scope of the improvements will include significant upgrades to mechanical and HVAC systems to drastically reduce the buildings’ energy consumption.
